Church History

In 1981, the Lord called Rev. Charles Lyles to begin a ministry for the rejected, down trodden, confused and distressed of the vicinity in which he resides.

The church started in Pleasantville NJ as the Basement Tabernacle. Rev. Charles Lyles began this ministry with six (6) members including his children.

In 1983 we transitioned to Morning Star Church in Atlantic City NJ. Victory Deliverance Temple of Truth Inc. Where we did several years of ministry until the Lord said it’s time to transition.

In 1986 Under the Leadership of our Pastor we transitioned to Egg Harbor City, NJ, as where the Lord continually added daily to the ministry. The church grew in such a mighty way that we needed to transition again.

In 1989 we were blessed to transition to the First Presbyterian Church in Atlantic City NJ. This Church and landmark has been in existence for over 100 years and the foundation is still standing.

In 1998 we merged with The First Presbyterian Church body and have become The Victory First Presbyterian Deliverance Church.

This Ministry has become one of Atlantic City’s most talked about ministries. Because of the size of our Facility it is used for all type of Events and Services. We are on the move reaching out to whosoever will through our feeding the Hungry Program which is done Monday through Friday. This program touches approximately 1,500 souls each week.
